WHAT IS COACHBUILDING?

The manufacture of true bespoke bodies and cars in short runs of more-or-less identical bodies to the order of designers or the manufacturer of a chassis.

Coachbuilt bodies are made of hand-shaped sheet metal, usually aluminum alloy. Pressed or hand-shaped metal panels are fastened to a wooden frame of particularly light but strong timber, called bucks. Many of the more important structural features of a bespoke or custom body such as A, B and C pillars are CNC or fabricated alloy components. Some bodies such as those entirely alloy bodies are fabricated completely from scratch by our skilled craftsman in our workshop.
